As the food we eat is our fuel – kinda like petrol for a car – it’s a no brainer that what we eat will impact our productivity.
Healthy eating (& exercise) will mean a healthier mind. Unhealthy eating will likely mean a tired mind. And when we’re tired, we cannot give the best of ourselves to our loved ones & our work tasks.
Simply, think about a time when you had a productive day. Ask yourself – what kinds of meals did you eat that week or day? How were you feeling?
Also, think about a time when you had an unproductive day. What kinds of meals did you eat that week or day? How were you feeling?
Just like how we restrict our children’s sugar intake because we care & love them, we need to do the same for our own health & wellbeing. This is not limited to sugar however, also consider your caffeine & water intake as well as over-consumption of foods.
A food diary is one option for you to try & assess the relationship between what you eat, any exercise you do & how productive you are.
We all want to achieve so much in our waking hours, so it’s time we understood how our fuel (the types of food we choose to eat) is impacting our productivity.
